In case you haven't heard, PoverUp is one of the hottest new micro-finance organizations. Started by a Youth Venturer, Charlie Javice, PoverUp is quickly making waves throughout the micro-finance, social entrepreneurship and business worlds. By providing a web platform that connects students, professors, individuals and corporations to invest in worthy projects overseas, PoverUp is a fantastic venture that has started making positive change at a rapid pace.
Such success has not gone unnoticed: Power up was recently featured on forbes.com and recognized on recognized Inc. Magazine and Fast Company.
It is amazing to think that this all started when Charlie "saw that a $200 5-year-old birthday party outing to the movies with friends was equal to the amount of the typical microloan." If current trends continue, Charlie's efforts will go along way towards creating the "Everybody a Changemaker" world that we here at Ashoka's Youth Venture are working hard to promote.
