Music: The Food of Community Life

Today's post written by YV Intern Amanda Frank

Today we are spotlighting LocalgigBook, a new Venture seeking to bring amateur bands and community organizations together in support of local causes.

LocalgigBook is gearing up for their first event, a Halloween concert called “Zombie Jam” taking place at a local youth center. Young people are in charge of every step of the planning process, from booking bands to organizing marketing campaigns. Through hard work and lots of learning, the group is gaining experience in event planning while promoting their youth center.

The team is already planning for a spring event with a similar vision. Through their efforts they hope create venues for emerging bands while supporting local charities and community organizations.

Play on!

Music is truly a food, most especially for music lovers. For me music is also as important as food. I could not imagine life without music.
