Alana Ethridge, founder of "Alana's Achievers," was recently named one of AOL Patch’s 30 Under 30 San Diego County Leaders.
Fourteen-year-old Alana is dedicated to helping students set goals and achieve their dreams. Her “Reading for Life” program provides mentoring by celebrities and community members in an effort to promote literacy. She also encourages schools to include healthy snacks and fun physical activities as a part of a healthy lifestyle.
In response to receiving the award, Alana replied: “I’m proud to be just a small part of the thousands of young change-makers around the world who are making big differences in their communities.”
